Typographic Design Using Your Handwriting

Now that you have a font made from your handwriting typeface, you will be creating a design using your new font. Think about the way your new typeface looks. What emotion does your typeface convey? How would you describe it?

• Happy?
• Sad?
• Harsh?
• Serious?
• Fun?
• Other?

Find a song that matches that emotion. Copy and paste the lyrics from a verse of that song into a new document in Photoshop.

• Your new document should be 5x7 at 300ppi
• You should design the rest of your document to match your song lyric, taking mood and emotion into account. Let your text be the focus though.
• You must KERN all of your characters properly.
• You may also need to adjust your BASELINE for your letters. Your choice, as it kind of depends on the emotion.
