‘Surplus Candy’ is an art show, in which 43 street artists secretly painted three entire floors of a condemned, and soon-to-be-demolished, NYC apartment building. Put together by street artist Hanksy (clearly a tribute to popular street artist Banksy), he invited street artists from all over New York to visit the building to decorate the rooms, toilets and walls with their “own brand of art.” After everything was planned out, it took the artists six days to complete the building.

The ad agency Rosapark, Paris, has come up with a series of creative but sobering posters to show who you REALLY could be chatting with online. Anyone could really be lurking behind the seemingly friendly façades of chat rooms. They changed faces into popular emoticons used in online chat.

Turkish artist Hasan Kale has been painting incredible detailed miniature scenes on butterflies, beetles, peanuts, and other objects since the 1980s. Each scene is a loving tribute to his native city of Istanbul, featuring picaresque panoramas of city life rendered in gorgeously dusky tones and amazing details that reveal their beauty with each viewing.
