Amazing Sculptures that "pop-up" from a single piece of paper

Artist Removes Cars From Print Ad Without Photoshop

Instead of opting for the easy, digital way out, car-maker Ford has teamed up with Chinese visual artist Liu Bolin to create an optical illusion print ad for the ‘2013 Ford Fusion’. Known as the “Invisible Man”, Liu is famous for his amazing self-portraits, where he camouflages himself seamlessly into his surroundings.

Applying the same technique in his project with Ford, the artist made cars ‘disappear’ by painting them to match their surroundings, thus rendering them ‘invisible’.

Naturally, the 2013 Ford Fusion is the only car left unpainted in the ad—to symbolize how it literally ‘stands out’ against a street of cars that blend into the background. The campaign seems like a lot of work considering that it would have just taken a few clicks on Photoshop to fade those cars into oblivion, but it certainly some attention and hopefully you can appreciate the artistic ingenuity.
