Research:
1. CREST RESEARCH: Make a folder or electronic mood board of images of crests or family crests that have something in them that you like. Find things like laurels, banners, filigree, wreaths, coronets, shields, and other symbols of heraldry.
2. FAMILY RESEARCH: Write/Type different words that relate to your family. Specifically, add things about your history, culture, traditions, stories, lore (knowledge that is traditional, anecdotal, or popular), objects, symbols, jokes, family colors (not necessarily related to a flag though), etc. Make a mood board/collection of images of things that are related to your family.

Architecture:
3. Build a library of YOUR OWN parts of a crest.
4. Build a library of YOUR OWN vector symbols of your family.
