3D ANIMALS PAINTED IN RESIN
Keng Lye's work is beyond awesome. When you first look at these three dimensional animals painted in layers of resin, you'd think they're real. Resin is a compound that starts as a liquid and, through a chemical process, hardens into a clear solid. To achieve really deep resin, such as filling a bowl or a basin with resin, you have to start with a thin layer and let it harden (usually 24-48 hours), then do another thin layer, then another, and so on. If you try too much resin at once, it won't ever harden. It’s amazing how life-like each one of them is, and you really need to take a second look when admiring these pieces of art.

As this artist add each layer of resin, he begins the painstaking process of painting animal. Eventually in the end, all the layers look like a 3D form.
